Vanished

vanish
vb (intr)
1. to disappear, esp suddenly or mysteriously
2. to cease to exist; fade away

Oh hai. I don’t seem to be able to get over here. Stuff is happening. Life is spinning on. I just don’t seem to have the capacity to sum everything up and spit it out here. Or maybe I do:

  • My sister is back at work. Very tired, but in otherwise good health. It is miraculous.

  • We had a grand time with Precious Oldest and her friends doing the tailgate thing a few weeks back.

  • Costco had a wonderful Brunello di Montalcino in last weekend. $28.99 a bottle. $28.99!!!! I was shoving half a case in my cart when the manager walked by. He asked if I knew that Brunello. Know it? I’ve been to the vineyard! Divine.

  • We leave late this afternoon to drive to Precious Youngest’s university for a repeat tailgate performance tomorrow.

I am considering delineating how to properly throw a college tailgate party. We’re pretty good. I’m just sayin’.

Portrait of "Pain"

There is one certainty in fall

It matters not if you are a fan

It can not be avoided

Foot Ball

Can you guess what my college colors were?

Then you can only IMAGINE how painful THIS was!

Ah well, at least the children enjoyed themselves!

Friday

The Saint and I head out to Princeton on the Prairie this afternoon for Parents Weekend. We'll do a surprise inspection visit the dorm and take Precious Oldest and friends to dinner.

Tomorrow we'll tailgate and attend the football game. I baked brownies and made macaroni salad last night to take with us. My pre-planning ended up sucking because the kitchen sink backed up big time and now I have piles of dirty dishes that it appears will have to be washed in the utility sink in the laundry room. Blech.

Before we leave I'll record the Presidential debate that may or may not take place depending on whether they:

A. Stay in Washington and, oh I don't know, do the jobs WE are fucking PAYING them to do.

OR

B. Decide not to waste the millions of dollars WE have already spent securing the location for the debate and carry on.

Who me? Fed up with politics? Not at all, and I resent your thinking otherwise.

I can't spell during football

I? Am not a beastly football fan. Much more with the basketball. But my Alma Mater is in a battle right now so I'm trying to cheer, post and comment at the same time. I just looked at my comments from the last post and holy shit, I know I'm not much of a speller, but I'm going to blame that on too many Fat Tires and my team sucking donkey balls at the moment.

Precious Oldest is here talking smack so if I have strength I'll back.

In which we are more like Best Friends than Mother and Daughter

This is what I came home to find Friday after work:

The note was left by Precious Youngest. And while I admire her choice of note paper (its mine not hers people, geez!), I'm not sure I'll ever see that fleece again damn it!

P.S. They did win the football game, I'm sure in large part to my fleece's assistance with the "blackout".
