Grateful

For several months I've been driving an alternate route to the office due to road construction. I pass a church that has a day care center. From what I can see it seems pleasant; small and non-institutional. The center has a nice playground and this time of year some of the children are outside playing as I drive by.

Each morning I drive by a bit after eight o'clock. I see mothers and fathers taking their small children into the center. And I say a quick prayer of thanks. Thanks that was never me. That I was able to make the choice that I made.

I am grateful.

I agree. I admire working moms immensely because I cannot fathom how they get everything done that they need to. I'm so blessed to be a SAHM.

I'm sure the precious ones are grateful too.

Hello! I just discovered that you left a simile for the comment poem. It is a fabulous, fabulous one! You have made my day!!!

I am running out the door at the moment, late for an appointment, but I will add it to the list this evening.

Thank you! and nice to meet you too!

Glad it wasn't you too, meaning, glad you were able to raise your kids exactly like you wanted and circumstances allowed for it.

It is nice to be able to do things the way that is important to you and your family. I am grateful that I was able to be home too.

I'm always reminded of how lucky I've been when I see a disinterested nanny talking on a cell phone whilst pushing the stroller.

Thanks for reminding me today too.

Amen! I would not trade the time I have with my kids for anything. Even now with my new crazy life, my kids are a part of it and I am in control of my schedule. I too am grateful.

I'm glad I was able to be home with my kids when they were younger too. Thankfully, we never did the day care thing. We did scraping by and opposite shifts, but I think it was worth it.
