Observation

I got a phone call from Precious Oldest this morning.

She didn’t call to ask for money. She didn’t call to reel off a list of complaints. She didn’t call to vent about petty grievances.

She called to tell me she is happy. That she loves her major. That she made the right decision.

Almost twenty is a LONG, LONG, LONG way from teenager.

Good for her and you!
Makes you feel that it has all been worth it, huh?

Or...is she crafting a plan to call and ask for money ...tomorrow?

Wait until she's done with college and has lived on her own a bit. When she comes home she'll be ever so helpful--because she realizes that cooking and cleaning are work and you shouldn't have to do it all. It's a lovely feeling.

That gives me hope as well. I always think that 16 is so far away from 13 (and 16 is much more pleasant), so if 19/20 is a long way from 16? I can't wait.

I will keep that in mind.
