Oops, I didn't mean to fall off the edge of the earth. But what have I been up to that's worth writing about?
That I missed my blogoversary back on August 10th?
That I turned 47 on Monday?
That I haven't heard back about my last interview BUT got called for an interview from the second resume I sent out?
That the Precious Daughters are busy navigating new college classes?
That my parents are celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary today?
I just don't know. What do you think?

Done
The deed is done. Precious Youngest is ensconced at her new school. Aside from throwing up on the ride there I think she's OK.
Her room is set, we went to lunch with two new dorm-mates, her books are picked up and, most importantly, her Internet access is working like a charm. I have pictures. But I need to pull them off the camera.
Classes don't start until Monday, so they have a few days to get acclimated to campus and figure out where their classes will be.
I can't think of a way to wrap this up except to say I'm a little blue.

This and That
The interview was interesting. The job would be a stretch. We'll see.
In other news - my birthday present came yesterday! I'd told the Precious Daughters ALL DAMN SUMMER that all I wanted for my birthday was for them to for have a picture taken together. Lord knows they've been bitching about what's been on display lo these many years...
At Seven and five - Precious Youngest looks constipated.
Somehow after that we never got around to having another picture taken of just the two of them. Well naturally they waited until three days before Precious Oldest went back to school honor my request, but they did it!
I may be sleeping with this after we take Precious Youngest to school. You never can tell.

At two and six months - I STILL like this photo!
At Seven and five - Precious Youngest looks constipated.
At ten and twelve - I think was taken for the parish directory and is particularly heinous.

Gulp
Things at work have been lackluster. Busier than shit, but not engaging. Too much work that other people should be doing. Under paid, over worked and under appreciated. You hear me?
So I polished up my resume. I took a look at what was out there. I sent two resumes out today. Testing the waters. And I have an interview. TOMORROW!
Holy shit people, I don't even know if I want the job. I was testing the fucking WATER! Now what?

Transition
We were visiting with some acquaintances after church on Sunday. Their daughter had been married the week before and I was enjoying hearing their description of her very lovely wedding. They asked about the Precious Daughters and we verified that both girls were both off to college this year. They asked when they were leaving and right there on the church walkway I started crying.
The Saint and I moved Precious Oldest back to school on Saturday. She will be an R.A. this year, so she went back early to get trained, to get her floor organized, to decorate doors and be there to welcome the residents. We met her boss, we like him very much. One of her friends is an R.A. three floors up and they are so excited about this new adventure.
We take Precious Youngest to school next Tuesday. Two hours in the opposite direction of her sister. We have started packing and will be checking our list carefully. She has been in contact with her room mate (so far so good) and will have several friends from high school enrolled there as well. Her class schedule worked out nicely and we anticipate a good launch.
They will be fine, we will be fine, I keep telling myself these things over and over. After all I do have a life; a job, a husband, friends, hobbies. But PEOPLE I am SAD. All their light and energy and enthusiasm is going to go with them. The same energy that sparked more than one fire over the years to be sure; but energy that has brought us immeasurable joy. It will not be the same when they’re gone.

Town
Of course you can't spend all your time at the resort. You need to take a trip into town.
There's one stop shopping!
With all the latest fashions!
May need to stop for refreshments!
Look! A wedding party!
Mom, I'm scared!
Not to worry, just some friends waiting to celebrate El Día de los Muertos.

Playa in Pictures
Surf, sun and sand
Lots of binge bonding with the Precious Daughters
Day
and night!
Good, mom and dad are off for a sail - maybe we can sneak in a nap!
On the beach
What fresh hell is this?
OMG - My parents are dancing in PUBLIC!
Our man Javier, manager extraordinaire,
he always knew just what to send over!
