Holiday Open House

When Jen offered to host another Open House I thought twice because my holiday decor tends to look the same from year to year.

2008

2009

See?

Then I realized there had been some changes around here since last year. Look, mirror in the dinning room!

When my parents moved this summer I inherited their living room sofa. I had my wedding picture taken on this sofa, as did my sister, so it holds many memories.

The tree holds other memories

My grandmother made many of the ornaments we've used to decorate our tree for many years. Because she was "Nana" we deemed the ornaments she made "Nanaments". That, my friends, is a story for another day.

For now, thanks to Jen for hosting and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Your living room looks so beautiful, but also comfortable and inviting.

I love your snowmen collection--I am a big lover of the snowmen but scaled back the display this year.

And you have a CAIRN!! We have two--a wheaten (looks much like yours) and a brindle. BEST. DOGS. EVER.

Ornaments from your childhood are the best. I give each of my kids a new one each year, and they get so excited to pull them out of their boxes and hang them on the tree. I think nanaments sound wonderful.

Awww, "nanaments" that's awesome! Same from year to year or not, it's homey and lovely and wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

Everything is lovely. And you did mix up the snowman positions. I tried something crazy this year and put my nutcrackers on the mantel instead of the piano.

They don't make sofas like they used to.

It all looks wonderful
